Node+Zero Product Overview

Designed as a targeted fiber-to-the-premises solution for cable TV operators, the Hitachi Node+Zero module provides a universal fiber optic connection from the headend to the subscriber, minimizing active components in the network and supporting targeted bandwidth increases along with opportunities for immediate revenue from subscribers in the target locations. The Node+Zero module is compatible with the emerging RFOG (RF Over Glass) initiative, allowing operators to leverage existing headend equipment and ultimately migrate to PON on a targeted basis as market conditions warrant.

The Hitachi Node+Zero solution delivers the well-understood advantages of passive optical networks, including eliminating amplifiers and other active components between the headend and the subscriber – a significant potential reduction in operating expense. Node+Zero micronodes can be deployed as standalone network interface devices at the subscribers’ premises, or in combination with a PON ONT to provide increased bandwidth, IPTV, data and POTS voice services, as well as high bandwidth services for businesses.

Not limited to proprietary protocols, the universal Hitachi Node+Zero micronode passes  DOCSIS and CMTS data between any manufacturer’s headend and CPE equipment.  Node+Zero is backward compatible with most HFC network configurations and through its fiber optic technology, will future proof the network.
